LiveJournal – Behind Her Closet

19 Dec

Behind Her Closet is a LiveJournal web shop that sells mainly accessories. It is run jointly by one of my friends in university but I will keep my neutral stand in my review on their collections. So far, I have noticed that their collections sell pretty fast and many items on their main page are tagged with a red ‘SOLD OUT’. However, BHC does offer remakes so it is no harm sending them an email to see if they can accommodate you.

BHC has their own mailing list so it is helpful to subscribe and get updates sent to your email. I dropped by to check out their collections once in a while and I can’t help but notice that many of their products are of vintage theme. It is not to say that BHC is a vintage accessories shop but rather it’s their main focus. I do see some interesting accessories on their main page most of the time. I do like the style of some of their earrings but it is a pity that my girlfriend don’t fancy such earrings. So, don’t be afraid to check them out and purchase their collections. At the rate Behind Her Closet is growing, I am pretty sure that BHC will be quite as popular as Edynae.

This Fashion Revamped

17 Dec

We all know that local discount apparel store This Fashion’s shop front has always looked like this.

Typical This Fashion Shop Front

You know, the typical black backgound with red fonts (red fonts always mean SALES) is one of it’s signature recognition, other than the overcrowded mannequins display area outside the shop, with the exception of their bigger outlets such as the one at the Paya Lebar Singapost. I went to Jurong Point the other day, and was astonished to see this:

New This FashionNew This Fashion store

The same layout of the mannequins are still there, although the display is placed further inside the store rather than their usual at the front display. Perhaps it’s due to a bigger shop area, as the This Fashion store was rather tiny at its previous location near the EC cut shop (the S$10 haircut shop) and Ocean Pacific shop on the ground floor. Do note that this new shop floor is quite slipperly, so do be careful. The current location of This Fashion is on Level 1, at the lot taken by John Little previously.

Now, this was what made me speechless. If anyone told me that This Fashion will have a shop design similar to GG<5, I would have labeled that person bonkers.

The store design is so much more impressive!

The Classic Fragrance

17 Dec

Unlike some of you who change your fragrance often, I have only used two fragrances for the past two years, namely Giorgio Armani’s Acqua Di Gio and BodyShop’s Oceanus. Both are somewhat similar for the fact that they are both breezy fragrances. For now, I have stopped on Oceanus and only using Acqua Di Gio. I first read about Acqua Di Gio 3-4 years ago on a lifestyle website. Back then, it is already labelled a classic fragrance. After using a tester, I definitely share the same sentiments. I have also noticed that my cousins are using the same fragrance as me so I think it runs in the family that we share similar tastes.

Acqua Di Gio

As you can see above, I am halfway through my current bottle of Acqua Di Gio. Once I finish my current bottle, I will be getting another from my local store. I have noticed that I don’t save that much by buying off eBay since the shipping will pretty much cover the differences. I will probably do a cover on Singapore-based shops that sell fragrances at bargain prices in the future. So, what’s your classic fragrance?

The Sweetest Things In Life

14 Dec

I bought from this online seller Sweet Little Corner during my initial phrase of online shopping a couple of years back. I will only mentioned very briefly about my experience with her, as I do not want potential buyers to abuse her helpfulness.

I had bought a pair of earrings from her, and although due to some unforseen circumstances which could have resulted in an unpleasant situation, she does not shift the blame and even offer me alternatives willingly. From this incident, she had gained my trust completely. I know I might have mentioned it before in my previous entry about spree organizers, but I still want to highlight that if you want to purchase anything from the organizers I mentioned, please be a sincere and reasonable buyer. I do not hope to create unpleasant experiences for the organizers.

Sweet Little Corner is now having an online Flea Market promotion from now till the 23rd of December, which is next Sunday. Discounts are offered for new items as well, with sales items going at more than 70% discount. If you prefer to view her yahoo auctions, you can do so HERE, although I would urge you to go to her website, as a wider range is displayed there.

Masks for Radiant Skin

13 Dec

Do drop by Lil Shopaholic, which is owned by my friend’s friend. I am not really a mask person, but based on what my friend blogged about in her blog entries so far (she’s a very fashionable young woman whose collection of clothes, make-up and accessories never fail to amaze me), these masks are great. I’m sure some of you have heard of this taiwan show 女人我最大 (which covers all topics about women’s beauty secrets), and you would be pleased to know that some of the masks were reccomended on this show.

Facial Masks

The price range is about S$1-S$2 per mask, which is the cheapest I have seen so far, taking into consideration the rising popularity of these masks. Postage rates by the organizer is very reasonable as well, so no harm dropping by the site! It even has the Breast Mask I mentioned previously!
