10 Blogs I Read Everyday – Part 1

11 Jan

In no particular order, and in short and sweet sentences, I present to you my list of the 10 blogs I read everyday. They are in no particular ranking because I can’t make up my mind because the satisfaction I get from reading each of them is on different levels. Sorry for the lack of shopping sites, because I am too overwhelmed by the pictures I have to edit for my company’s Product Exhibition next week.

1) Xiaxue – I know, I know. Why am I reading her blog, you ask. Well, I find that the shopping tyrant in me wants to know what she buys, which country she goes and WHICH OF HER ACCESSORY IS BEING ADORNED WITH CRYSTALS (again)! I am still amazed at her patience in sticking her gadgets with crystals, decorating her room and most important of all, I like her personality and her responses to questions- she doesn’t mind poking fun at herself and situations.

2) Pink Is The New Blog is an entertainment gossip blog by Trent Vanegas. I’m sure you can get all the details of what he writes about when you click on his name.

3) Angela, aka Mrs Tat, is my secondary school girlfriend. And the lady who I mentioned briefly before that has loads of make-up, clothes and bags. I still think that her collection of new bags (as in not used) is at least twice the number of my used bags. Haha. She is a true blog shopaholic and I love reading about her buys! Everytime my mum threatened me on my shopping hauls, I keep thinking of Angela. Kidding!

4) Shaun rules on The Butterfly Tales! If there was any blogger who could capture the essentials of a situation, that would be him. You just can’t help but laugh along with him. He claims to have a short attention span  (of one month) for commitments, and he catagorizes his girls into months (I find that Miss September and Miss December seems to have more focus) after the concept in the Sweet November movie. Except his cause was not as honourable? Haha. I have not met him but had added him in my MSN list. One fine day, I couldn’t help but couldn’t help MSN-ing him after seeing his nick:

Cyrene says, “Never ask the Turtles?”

Butterfly: Finding Miss April says, “Oh.”

I really hope you get the lame joke. Oh ya, his blog is of NC-16 material – not for the early teens. If you are one, you are still going to go ahead and read his blog anyway, right?

5) Sharon Au, aka 欧菁仙, who is one of Singapore’s best comperes. I absoutely love her in the chinese sitcome 播音人 (Right Frequency) as “Chen Mei Guang Guang Guang Guang Guang*. Read this entry of hers about her hosting gig at the the recent Star Awards 2007, so memory lane.

Liang Jing Ru Concert – Part 3

10 Jan

Sorry for the really long wait due to yours truly’s lengendary bout of laziness..Haha. To read on the previous parts, here are Part 1 and Part 2.

Here are the rest of the pictures, and I do mean pictures, because I am too lazy to recall and type out the details. All I want to say is that, I am kind of disappointed that Ah Xing didnt sing the more popular duet “Ming Ming Hen Ai Ni” with Liang Jing Ru. It would have been a really fun song for them. Anyway, I really prefer Ah Xing to shout out his songs rather than singing his songs like a normal singer. That’s his groove, baby! Jing Ru re-appreared for her encore (expected it to happen. The lights were off. Duh! Who off the lights when the concert is supposedly to be over? Her encore session is really so much more fun than the beginning portion, with more banter and teasing and singing other singers’ songs, such as 伤痕 (林忆莲’s song from eons ago).

P/S: Sorry for thinking this way, but I still find that the cheerleaders have the word, “EXTRA” tattooed over their foreheads… Waving the fire sticks thingy is like so years ago.

Hong Kong Phone Scams

10 Jan

Despite all the publicity and media reports on such scams, there’s still plentiful of such scams going on. They always go by the same sequence or with some differences for the sake of variety. First, you received a telephone call from an unknown number from a China-accented person to do a survey by some company. After that, you will receive another call a few days later that you are being invited to an event in some convention centre. On that day or the day after, the same person will call and inform you that you have won a prize in a lucky draw that you won’t even know that you are in it. I think that part is sort of to have you think that you joined the lucky draw because of the survey. So, you have won something but to collect it, you will have to pay a percentage of the money as tax/trust insurance/administration fee or whatever they call it in order to collect your prize money. Apparently, there’s no lack of idiots in this world, people still fall for such scams due to their greed.

I received such a call last year but brushed it off. But a few days ago, I got another such call. This time, I decided to play along and do a bit of detective work. I questioned the lady why I should pay the tax to the Hong Kong government when I am a Singaporean. I don’t even think that there’s a tax on lottery or lucky draw winnings in Singapore or Hong Kong. I managed to get a phone number and a website address from the lady. That’s where things starts falling apart for her, the website redirects to a company of the same name but does mortgages instead of the electronics like the scammer told me. Furthermore, the web address is only registered in November 2007 (There’s what you get when you are dealing with an IT savvy person). Anyway, I am still considering if I should report this to the Police at the moment. So stay tuned to my detective work.

Blythe Dolls Clothes

Blythe Doll

I don’t really like dolls, and the Blythe Dolls are no exception. However, I do love their clothes and the collection never fails to amaze me. To me, Barbie’s clothes collection pale in comparison with Blythe’s exquisite designs. This is exceptionally so, when you have dedicated people like Superblythe, who offer handmade clothes for your Blythe dolls!

Here are some of my favourite designs (roll over to view the item name):

The price range for the dresses range from $8.00 to $28.00. For reviews, you can read the comments from the people who bought from Superblythe HERE.

Liang Jing Ru Concert – Part 2

7 Jan

Hey all, here’s the next batch of photos from the concert! Alternatively, you can also read Part 1 of the concert!

Shortly after her costume change, Liang Jing Ru re-emerged.

There was this couple role-playing during one of the songs, which I find were rather out of place. They walked across the stage, holding hands and the guy was holding on to the biggest suitcase I ever saw in my whole life. I guess it’s not just me, because I overheard a girl behind me muttering, “The luggage is freaking big!” The stage couple stopped in the middle, a short distance beside Jing Ru, put the suitcase on the floor, and then walked off hand in hand. Okay… I didn’t really know what to make of that. It turns out that in the ending lines of the song, Jing Ru went over and knelt beside the suitcase, opened it, and out comes a row of balloons (secured by a line). Okay…

Liang Jing Ru mingling with the crowds. Later on, a group of fans were screaming, “Jing Ru, I Love You!” to which she remark with a pout that, “How come you didn’t tell me just now when I was walking around? You were all frantically taking my pictures only!”

Earlier on, Xavi was telling me about the ‘tradition’ of Fish Leong’s concert – Couples would take this opportunity at her concert to propose to their other half, or to declare their love and appreciate.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

After all, this year’s concert was titled “Liang Jing Ru Qing Ren Yan Chang Hui”, so I had somewhat expected there to be a session of such declaration. However, all I saw were clips of past couples and their declaration. Luckily, some of the featured celebrities made the video clips darn interesting.

I love Mayday’s portion of the video! See them mimicking the poster in the background of the first picture! They were hilarious with their love declarations and marriage proposals to each other!

Once the clip ended, Fish Leong re-appeared.
