Chinese New Year Shopping

22 Jan

With the Chinese New Year less than 2 weeks away, I finally completed my shopping for new clothes. Total damage done at almost S$300 which is a record to me. It’s partly due to my girlfriend throwing out most of the jeans that no longer fit me. Anyway, I would recommend guys who have not completed their shopping to take a look at John Little. Being on the budget this year means John Little is pretty much my saviour. I found myself 3 pair of jeans at S$39.00 each so it is quite a bargain compared to my purchases from past years. As for tops, I went with my favoured G2000 and gave Giordano Concepts a shot.

I will be posting the details of the CNY contest once I get everything sorted out so stay tuned!

Hollywood Fashion Tapes

14 Jan

Have you ever bought a really nice dress and was preparing to wear it for an event, only to discover at the very last minute that the dress is so much more low-cut than that time you first tried it on? Happens to me all the time! Well, I have learnt to be smart, and now’s your turn.

Hollywood Tapes

I present you:

Hollywood Tapes

Hollywood Fashion Tape is no-fuss clear adhesive tape, which is really so much more convenient and useful compared to safety pins. Don’t even get me started on my experience with safety pins – They just spoil the appearance of my outfit and the outfit itself. I have encountered enough embarrassing situations about wardrobe malfunction (there’s no Nipplegate incident, fortunately) such as having my friend nudging my friend (who was sitting beside me), who whispered to me that my scotch-tape was showing. Yeah, go on and laugh. I have attempted to put safety pins, scotch-tape (folded so that the tape stick both ways) and even having those thick green double sided tape taped onto my skin. Ouch!

Those days are over!

Each strip of Hollywood Fashion Tape has a removable backing on each side. All you have to do is to peel off one side of the tape, press the tape onto the area you want to secure, remove the other backing and stick it onto the other surface. The tape’s adhesive is hypo-allergenic so no worries on getting rashes, but do be slow and steady when removing the tape as the adhesive is really sticky. I gave some strips (from my second pack) to my girlfriend to secure her tube, and she immediately exclaimed, “So secure! Why didn’t you give me earlier?” after sticking it on.

What are you waiting for? Put an end to all the embarrassing moments!

G2000 End Season Sale

31 Dec

People who know me well will know that I fancy G2000’s style of clothings. That’s what I call proper clothes fit for self-loving men. G2000 is currently having their end season sale until 6th Jan, Sunday. Discounts are up to 50% according to their ads. Why am I doing an entry on that when everyone can see? It is because I can get you an extra 10% off!

Some people find MSN’s flash advertisements to be irritating which I totally agree but I felt compelled to see through an advertisement a moment ago and saw the diamond in a pool of mud. So, here’s the coupon for your enjoyment. Do give me a comment or a pat on my back for my efforts! Now, go save the coupon and print it out!

Sales At Victoria’s Secret

28 Dec

I don’t normally cover a lot on shopping sales but I feel that the current sale at Victoria’s Secret will be worth the while. Victoria’s Secret is currently having their semi-annual sale with up to 50% off on select styles. Choose from over 250 styles of shoes with prices up to 50% off. Select sleepwear are on sale from 25% to 60% off so what are you waiting for? One important thing to mention is that Victoria’s Secret ships internationally but shipping to Singapore carries a one-time charge of around US$24.00.  So, it will be more worthwhile if you are buying several items to save more and get better bang for the buck.

This Fashion Revamped

17 Dec

We all know that local discount apparel store This Fashion’s shop front has always looked like this.

Typical This Fashion Shop Front

You know, the typical black backgound with red fonts (red fonts always mean SALES) is one of it’s signature recognition, other than the overcrowded mannequins display area outside the shop, with the exception of their bigger outlets such as the one at the Paya Lebar Singapost. I went to Jurong Point the other day, and was astonished to see this:

The same layout of the mannequins are still there, although the display is placed further inside the store rather than their usual at the front display. Perhaps it’s due to a bigger shop area, as the This Fashion store was rather tiny at its previous location near the EC cut shop (the S$10 haircut shop) and Ocean Pacific shop on the ground floor. Do note that this new shop floor is quite slipperly, so do be careful. The current location of This Fashion is on Level 1, at the lot taken by John Little previously.

Now, this was what made me speechless. If anyone told me that This Fashion will have a shop design similar to GG<5, I would have labeled that person bonkers.

The store design is so much more impressive!
